Physio for heroes herramienta digital que apoya a madres de menores con cáncer para realizar fisioterapia en casa de forma independiente (caso de estudio Fundación Dharma)

Abstract

El cáncer es una de las principales causas de mortalidad en niños de todo el mundo. Aunque hay muchos tipos de tratamiento para el cáncer, los que recibe un niño dependen del tipo de cáncer y de lo avanzado que esté. Los más comunes son cirugía, quimioterapia, radioterapia y trasplante de células madre, los cuales generan, como consecuencia secundaria, desacondicionamiento físico (DF). Partiendo de esta problemática, el proyecto “Physio for heroes”, elaborado desde el enfoque del diseño digital y multimedia, se encarga del desarrollo de una herramienta digital que apoya a madres de menores con cáncer para realizar fisioterapia en casa de forma independiente con el fin de disminuir el DF, apoyando así el bienestar físico de los menores. Para ello, se implementan dos metodologías propias del diseño, el Design Thinking y el Diseño Centrado en el Usuario, las cuales permiten generar ideas innovadoras por medio del acercamiento a madres e hijos, con el fin de ofrecer una solución conforme a las necesidades de los usuarios. Entre los resultados que se encuentran a través del uso del producto es que las madres de los niños con cáncer están dispuestas a apoyarlos en pro de su bienestar y, por esto, incentivan a sus hijos en la implementación de las rutinas de fisioterapia en casa, de modo que se contrarreste el desacondicionamiento físico y se incremente la calidad de vida.
