Detección de huevos de helmintos en aguas empleadas para riego de cultivos, en el municipio de Mosquera (Cundinamarca)

dc.description.abstract | El uso de aguas residuales crudas o parcialmente tratadas empleadas para el riego de cultivos es una práctica común en varias regiones del mundo, lo que proporciona grandes beneficios al suelo y a la productividad agrícola. Sin embargo, la irrigación de cultivos con estas aguas, representa un riesgo para la salud pública, tanto humana como animal por la contaminación de microorganismos. Se tomaron 96 muestras de agua, de 6 sitios en la sabana de Bogotá, durante los meses de Junio a noviembre de 2019. El método Bailenger Modificado fue empleado para la detección y cuantificación de los huevos de helmintos. En las muestras analizadas se detectó la presencia de huevos de Ascaris spp 33/96 (34,37%) y Ancilostomideos spp 40/96(41,66%), con un promedio de 0.81y 1.53 huevos por litro (h/L), respectivamente. Seguido por Hymenolepis spp 11/96 (11,45 %) con un promedio de 0.24 h/L, Trichuris spp 5/96(5,20 %) con un promedio de 0.028 h/L, y Capillaria spp 2/96(2.083 %) con un promedio de 0.0083 h/L. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que el uso de estos estos efluentes para actividades agrícolas pueden representar un riesgo para la salud pública, puesto que fue detectada la presencia de huevos de helmintos en diferentes puntos del distrito de riego, indicando que estas muestras no cumplen con los límites establecidos por la normatividad nacional e internacional, sugiriendo la urgente intervención para controlar y vigilar el uso de estas aguas para el riego de cultivos de consumo directo. | spa |
