dc.description.abstractEl virus de la diarrea viral bovina (VDVB) hace parte de la familia Flaviviridae, del género Pestivirus. Es caracterizado por su gran variabilidad genómica; tiene dos genotipos, varios subgrupos genómicos y dos biotipos: citopático (CP) y no citopático (NCP). Presenta una distribución mundial, es capaz de desarrollar diferentes presentaciones clínicas en las que afecta la salud de bovinos, agente causal del complejo diarrea viral bovina/enfermedad de las mucosas, entre otras, generando importantes pérdidas económicas. Mediante este estudio descriptivo, analítico de corte cuyo objetivo fue determinar la seropositividad y posibles factores asociados a la presentación del VDVB en un total de 2000 bovinos provenientes de diferentes predios distribuidos en 23 veredas del municipio de Tauramena, Casanare. Los datos se obtuvieron a través de una encuesta epidemiológica. Se utilizó una prueba de ELISA para la detección de anticuerpos contra VDVB, la descripción de las variables se realizó mediante análisis univariado, análisis bivariados con las pruebas estadísticas chi cuadrado y regresión logística para posibles factores de asociación. La seropositividad promedio del VDVB fue del 31,9% y los factores asociados a la presentación del VDVB fueron: la presencia de un río, presencia de aljibe, ser de raza bovina pura y animales destinados al tipo de explotación intensivo. Este estudio permitió evidenciar que la DVB prevalece en los hatos bovinos de las diferentes veredas del municipio e identificar factores asociados a la presentación de la misma, lo cual contribuye al conocimiento de la enfermedad en el municipio de Tauramena, Casanarespa
