This is a mixed investigation, which is carried out in order to know the epidemiological studies and the cases registered in the blood bank of the human T / I cell lymphotropic virus in the population of Colombia, covering the period of 1985-2018 , associating the endemic areas, with the possible modes of transmission, vulnerable population groups and the risk of acquiring some of the main pathologies associated with infection with the associated HTLV I / II virus (adult T-cell leukemia, lymphoma and tropical spastic paraparesis ). For the development of the research it is important to know the prevalence. of HTLV I / II and analyze the epidemiological behavior in the country, taking into account the implementation of screening and mandatory tests for antibodies against HTLV I / II in blood banks from of the year 2014. Knowing the consolidated statistics of the human T / I lymphatic virus T / I in Colombia in the proposed period, the need arises to deepen the issue to understand and analyze risk factors and protection in the Colombian population, such as the coinfection of pathologies, population migration, genetic predisposition and territorial displacement. To carry out the aforementioned, a systematic review of reports and articles published in different databases is carried out, which as an inclusion criterion were applied the cases of HTLV I / II from 1985-2018 and the possible pathologies associated and registered in the different regions of Colombia. As a result, this document is obtained, which provides updated information on the human T / I lymphatic T / I lymphotropic virus in the Colombian population during the period 1985-2018. The results obtained allow us to estimate that Colombia has a prevalence of 0.29% for HTLV I / II in selected groups of the population. Given the above, it is necessary to implement preventive health policies such as care during breastfeeding, and screening of HTLV I / II to donors, pregnant women and neonates
