Redsponsable.
Today, the easy access to technology has allowed the change in
the routine of its users, giving priority to this. Social networks allow
contact with others, whether through videos, photographs, messages
or comments, and this type of “indirect contact” also gives rise to
positive and negative emotions, almost as if it were face-to-face
contact; therefore, it is important to make responsible use of these.
Based on the above, the objective of the “Redsponsable" project is
to sensitize young students (19 to 23 years old) of the Colegio Mayor
de Cundinamarca University about the effects on emotional health
caused by the frequent use of social networks; to this end, a study is
conducted in four academic programs of the university, which shows
that students of Digital Design and Multimedia are more likely to make
daily use of social networks and, therefore, are more likely to affect
their emotional health.
From the constant observation and the approach to the users, it is
evident that the images generate greater remembrance, that there is
interest for the technology and that they have in common the taste for
the animals.
From the discovery of this design opportunity arises
“Redsponsable App”, an application for mobile phones with Android
operating system that generates empathy with students and allows
them to better understand the relationship between emotions and
social networks, through the care of a virtual pet. In order to do so, it
takes as a resource the fulfillment of activities that promote the proper
use of social networks and foster emotional intelligence.
