El motivo de esta investigación es proponer medidas que ayuden a la conservación y restauración de las residencias universitarias 10 de mayo (RUM), específicamente los bloques C-1 y C-2, ubicados en el Centro Urbano Antonio Nariño (CUAN) en la ciudad de Bogotá. Se llevará a cabo un estudio detallado de su historia y del estado actual del edificio, identificando aspectos arquitectónicos de la época de la construcción, características del estilo y posibles daños, con el fin de evaluar su condición y planificar intervenciones que permitan preservar su valor como bien de interés cultural del ámbito nacional. Estas residencias se encuentran ubicadas en la carrera 36 N°22D-51, en la localidad de Teusaquillo, Bogotá, Colombia, cercanas a la Universidad Nacional de Colombia y centro de ferias CORFERIAS. Se analizarán datos históricos y condiciones ambientales para comprender el estado actual del edificio, proponiendo mejoras estructurales que aprovechen materiales y estructuras originales para garantizar su uso continuo desde el inicio de su construcción en 1952-1958. Durante el proceso de restauración, se dará prioridad a la preservación del diseño original propuesto en el Comité Internacional de Arquitectura, por el arquitecto Le Corbusier, manteniendo la integridad histórica y estética del edificio. Este proyecto posee un significativo interés académico, al permitir la aplicación de conocimientos en construcción y gestión arquitectónica. Se abordarán temas como métodos de construcción, materiales, estructuras y patologías en la construcción, con el objetivo de conservar la edificación y mejorar la calidad de vida de sus residentes.

The reason for this research is to propose measures that help the conservation and restoration of the 10 de mayo (RUM) university residences, specifically blocks C-1 and C-2, located in the Antonio Nariño Urban Center (CUAN) in the city. from Bogotá. A detailed study of its history and the current state of the building will be carried out, identifying architectural aspects of the time of construction, style characteristics and possible damages, in order to evaluate its condition and plan interventions that will preserve its value as asset of cultural interest at the national level. These residences are located on Carrera 36 N°22D-51, in the town of Teusaquillo Bogotá, Colombia, close to the National University of Colombia and the CORFERIAS fair center. Historical data and environmental conditions will be analyzed to understand the current state of the building, proposing structural improvements that take advantage of original materials and structures to ensure its continued use since the beginning of its construction in 1952-1958. During the restoration process, priority will be given to preserving the original design proposed by the International Committee of Architecture, by architect Le Corbusier, maintaining the historical and aesthetic integrity of the building. This project has significant academic interest, as it allows the application of knowledge in construction and architectural management. Topics such as construction methods, materials, structures and pathologies in construction will be addressed, with the aim of preserving the building and improving the quality of life of its residents.
