dc.description.abstractLas enfermedades autoinmunes son patologías que representan un problema de salud pública por el deterioro de la calidad de vida de las personas que las padecen. Estas enfermedades se definen como la respuesta anormal del sistema inmunológico a moléculas propias o autoantígenos específicos llevando a daño en tejidos; su desarrollo es multifactorial, por lo que en su estudio es imprescindible tener en cuenta los factores ambientales, genéticos, entre otros. La metabolómica es la ciencia ómica que estudia metabolitos, por medio de esta se pueden estudiar eventos biológicos y así determinar alteraciones relevantes en procesos de enfermedades. Es así que el objetivo de esta investigación es abordar desde la perspectiva de la metabolómica los cambios que se pueden encontrar en perfiles metabolómicos entre pacientes con Esclerosis Sistémica y Síndrome de Sjögren. De esta forma se encuentra que hay metabolitos a destacar en estas enfermedades como los ácidos grasos y metabolitos derivados de aminoácidos entre ellos el triptófano los cuales pueden intervenir en su patología. Este estudio proporciona información relevante para futuras investigaciones, lo que supondría un apoyo en la búsqueda futura de nuevos metabolitos que puedan contribuir en el desarrollo de las enfermedades tratadas en este trabajospa
