saludable. Facing the emotional aspects of a cancer diagnosis significantly
impacts the patient's quality of life. However, when information
related to the subject is deficient, it can trigger psychological
disorders affecting how the disease is coped with, such as stress,
anxiety, and depression.
Given that this event often occurs in oncological institutions, the
question arises: How can we enhance the information provided in
emotional support within palliative care for cancer patients,
highlighting the importance of managing emotions at every stage of
the diagnosis? Thus, the project is proposed based on Christopher
Frayling (1993) For - About - Through research in design method,
focusing on a projective investigation for design that consists of a
series of stages inspired by the double-diamond model. These
stages allow the acquisition of information about the group being
addressed, the problem, and its context. In this case, the focus is on
female cancer patients affiliated with the Asociación Apoyo a
Mujeres con Enfermedades del Seno (AMESE).
As a result, "Vivir el Cáncer" aims to contribute to improving the
quality of life for cancer patients by strengthening the necessary
information for autonomous and healthy emotional management.
